We just signed our lease and move into our first official office building on November 1st (El Segundo, CA). Very exciting!

It’s a small industrial space (approx 1,000 sq ft) with 17 foot ceilings with lots of light. There’s also lots of cool cave-type rooms for our programmers who avoid the light. It should offer the best of both worlds.

There’s still lots of work to do. An architecture firm currently occupies the space, and we all know how dirty architects are. We’ll upload more pics after we get the place all cleaned up.

We thought we’d give a quick progress update…

We know many of you are really missing (and begging for) a search functionality. We thought it was important to have something to actually search for before we added it, but we think it’s about that time. We’ll be adding this along with a couple of other cool things over the next coming weeks.

Also, I thought I’d write a little piece that describes what Blabbr is, you know… just to help a little:

Blabbr.com is a place where you can rant and rave about anything. Think of it as Twitter meets public opinion. Have a band that you really like? Or maybe someone that you really hate? Score it with Blabbr. We like to think of it as procrastination with a point.

Blabbr is first in a series of apps that we will introduce, both through our site and on Facebook. It allows users to create a free account where they can add a topic, associate a rating with that topic, and leave a comment. These posts are displayed on the home page where other members can agree or disagree with the original poster, or add their own opinion. This can also be done through mobile/txt messaging. Additionally, power users will find the ability to track topics (brands, bands, people, etc) that they like. We track all of these points and constantly update what we feel the ‘general mood’ of the world is. This ultimately becomes an easy to use public-opinion forum, or micro-blog, where people can speak their mind.

Our site is in public-beta, and our first Facebook app is nearing completion and should be launched by October 31, 2007.

Couple of things we think you should know…

1) we think its cool to accumulate points, we’ll figure out what they’re worth at some point… promise.

2) use blabbr with your mobile phone… text to 25222 (yup, that’s BLABB) anything that you want to give your 2 cents about. Think of it as twitter meets your opinion.

We stand by the fact that Blabbr is all about Procrastination… use it to waste time whenever and however you can! But most importantly, have some fun with it. Remember to invite a friend… its more fun that way.

You can score your friends, movies you love, things that get on your nerves, or anything else that’s on your mind – and accumulate some points of your own while you’re at it! What are these points good for? Well… lots of cool things that we’ll tell you about later.

You can also see what your friends and other users are saying. Maybe you agree with someone about what the best energy drink is… Or disagree about who should be the next president. Let them know. Blabbr encourages you to interact and engage in discussions about the topics.

This is the first of many apps we will be releasing to help bring together your mobile and internet life. Some will be fun and pointless, some will be useful little tools that you will want to have.
